Inclusion Task Force

Every member of the William & Mary Law School community should feel welcomed, respected, and valued. In order to facilitate the Law School’s continued work to ensure that the school is an inclusive place for individuals of all backgrounds and perspectives, the Dean has established an Inclusion Task Force. The charge to the Task Force is to engage with three areas of inquiry:

1. To what extent does the Law School succeed in its goal of making its community a welcoming place for all of its members, including students, faculty, administrators, staff, and alumni, and how can we improve in areas in which we fall short?

2. How can the Law School more successfully recruit, support, and retain a diverse student body, faculty, administration, and staff?
3. What efforts should be undertaken to help members of the Law School community better understand and engage with diverse experiences and perspectives?
The Task Force will meet regularly over the Spring 2019 semester, researching best practices and engaging across the Law School community. Its final report will be due by June 30, 2019.

Questions or comments about the work of the Task Force may be directed to Dean Laura Shepherd at [[w|laura.shepherd]] or Professor Laura Heymann at [[w|laheym]], co-chairs of the Task Force.

Members of the Law School community who wish to submit information or suggestions to the Task Force to guide it in its work may use this form.
